Historically, Lebannon is the first producer of wine in the world.

For centuries, the region of Zahlé, in the middle of Bekaa, is renouned for the quality of its grapes.

At the moment, there are twenty-something types of vines exploited.

The production is of 8 million bottles a year.

Historically, the cultivation of vines in Lebannon goes back to 7000 years BC, there are an incredible number of types of vines, mostly used for table wine.

These days, the main types if vines used have come back from the West towards the Orient, after much evolution.

For red wines, it’s the Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Cinsault, Black Grenache, Syrah and Tempranillo.

White wines include Chardonnay, Clairette, Merwah, and Obeidi (local vines used mostly for Arak which resemble local Chardonnay and Semillon), Sauvignon Blanc, Ugni Blanc and Viognier.

The wines of Lebannon are based on sun-ripened fruit, very concentrated and generous.

It’s hard to imagine these evenings for those who have not yet attended one of these tastings.

The idea:  Serge, our sommelier, chooses 5 wines which he will have us taste, will give us tips on how to appreciate them and how to wow your guests during your next dinner party.

He works in concert with our chef, and together, they choose traditional dishes from the regions, in perfect accord with Serge’s wines.

All, in a relaxed, professional, sympathetic, and, of course erotic atmosphere!

Normally, we are about 40 to 50 guests.

The evening ends in a party!!

Doors open at 5h30pm, the tasting starts at 6pm.

The club stays open until 3am for other tastings…
